Build Your Skills is a six-week intro program that mixes movement games, balance, coordination, focus and foundational Jiu-Jitsu in a calm, supportive setting.
Our coaches adapt every activity to each child’s comfort, confidence and learning needs. The goal is real progress, not keeping up with everyone else.
Different starting points. Shared opportunities. Endless potential.
A welcoming place where friendships and confidence can grow.
More attention. More guidance. More chances to succeed.
Small groups
Only 3–4 kids per group, so every child gets real one-on-one time in a comfortable setting.
More coach support
Extra guidance and encouragement, with instruction shaped around each child.
Step-by-step skills
Movements are introduced gradually, with plenty of time to practise and repeat.
Adaptable setting
Coaches adjust activities so every child can take part with comfort and confidence.
A place to start, without labels or pressure.
Build Your Skills welcomes kids aged 7+ who benefit from smaller classes, extra coach guidance or a more individual approach.
That might include neurodivergent children, kids with learning differences, kids who are new to group activities, or anyone who would feel more comfortable starting Jiu-Jitsu in a small group.
Practice, connection and confidence.
Kids explore balance, coordination, reaction, focus, teamwork and Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals through guided activities and games.

Have a question that isn’t here? Call us at 613-794-5657. We’re happy to talk it through.
Does my child need any experience?
No. Build Your Skills is designed for complete beginners. We start from the very first step.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes without zippers or buttons. No gi is needed to start. Kids train barefoot on the mats.
Can I stay and watch?
Yes. Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay during class. Many kids feel more comfortable knowing you’re close by.
What if my child needs a break?
That’s completely okay. Kids can step aside, take a breather and rejoin whenever they’re ready. There’s no pressure to participate in every activity.
Can I tell the coaches about my child’s needs?
Please do. When you enquire, tell us what helps your child feel comfortable and what to avoid. It helps our coaches plan from the first class.
Is Jiu-Jitsu safe for kids?
Yes. Classes are closely supervised in a small group, and we teach safe falling and body control before any partner work.
Every journey begins with a first step.
Tell us a little about your child, and we’ll help you figure out whether Build Your Skills is the right fit. Your child’s progress will always be their own.
