Kids & Adults FAQs

BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU & STRIKING

  • Safety is our top priority. Our certified instructors supervise every class to maintain a safe environment. We teach children proper techniques and etiquette to prevent injuries while promoting a supportive learning atmosphere.

  • For Gi classes, your child needs a white Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi (jacket, pants, and belt). In No Gi classes, they should wear a Sojiujitsu rash guard, NoGi shorts or leggings.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. We suggest finding a frequency that fits comfortably into your weekly schedule and allows for consistent attendance. This will help your child make steady progress and enjoy their training over time.

  • Our competition team focuses on nurturing young athletes aspiring to compete internationally. With advanced training programs, world-class instructors, and a supportive environment, we emphasize effort, dedication, and personal growth both on and off the mats.

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) stands out for its effectiveness in self-defense, emphasizing leverage and technique over strength. It builds resilience, fosters a supportive community, and develops strategic thinking, making it ideal for self-defense and personal development.

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches practical self-defense skills and strategies that empower children to handle bullying situations assertively and confidently. By enhancing physical and mental resilience, BJJ equips children with the tools to de-escalate conflicts peacefully or defend themselves effectively if necessary. Additionally, the confidence gained from training in BJJ often deters bullies and promotes a positive self-image in children.

  • No prior experience is necessary. Our Adult Basics class is designed for complete beginners and provides a safe and supportive environment to learn the fundamentals of BJJ.
